Sowjanya case a ‘murder’ in police records

|
Did you know this?

If the post mortem report of Ujire SDM College student Sowjanya who was found dead on October 10, had revealed that she was raped and murdered, the information obtained through an RTI query, has revealed that Sowjanya case has been registered as a mere murder case, in turn giving room for doubts.

In fact, the suspicion of the locals no sooner Sowjanya’s body was traced was that it was a rape and murder and even the Mahajar and post mortem report had mentioned that some assailants had raped and murdered Sowjanya anywhere between 4.15 pm on October 9 and 12.30 noon on October 10. It has been learnt that though the post mortem report has proved that she was raped and murdered, the same has been kept on hold until the forensic report is available.

That the Sowjanya case has been registered as a mere ‘murder’ has given room for much doubt more so because of the belief that she might not have been killed by one person, but at least three persons. The forensic report is now keenly awaited as it is likely to answer the several questions haunting public minds.
