KARKALA : The Sowjanya rape and murder case echoed at a convention organized by the All College Students Association at the Gandhi Maidan here on January 3, Thursday. During the convention, students were seen holding banners with photographs of Sowjanya and seeking justice in the case.
This youth awareness meet in a way converted into a protest meet to prevail upon the authorities to speed up investigation into Sowjanya case and secure justice to her family.
Students said such incidents can be averted only
when perpetrators of such acts are brought to book. They demanded swift
action in Sowjanya case.
Though students were heard shouting slogans in this regard, none of the dignitaries present on the occasion, chose to raise the issue. Instead, they gave lengthy speeches referring to the Delhi gang rape incident.
