Dear Sreenath R Prabhu Ujire,

This is with regard to you and your fake profile YM ADMIN which you have been using to spew venom on Justice For Sowjanya campaigners to demotivate the ongoing struggle. I suggest you to walk out of your clinic once by leaving behind the Petadharis offered luxury car to give a round of visit to entire Belthangady thaluk. I hope you would come to know who has been disrupting the harmony of people of this thaluk since 30 years or more (you better read it as even before Bhuvith Shetty's birth). And to be more precise, I didn't swallow poor peasants lands to be an immediate landlord. I'm not the one who used certain 'ism' to shatter entire thaulk with feudalism. I wasn't the one who kept on butchering the innocents to wash off the crimes. Well, you can now assume, who played with the feelings of people of Belthangady Thaluk. 

                           

Yes, our blog/page did attract the youths(you better read it as - JFS has got the support of 48 country's citizens). That might have been itching you just because of our online campaign several main stream daily's had reported Sowjanya's gruesome rape and murder. And became a national issue. That too was way back two years. I am sharing TOI's piece on our campaign which was published on Dec 31, 2012.

And to make someone prey, neither I belong to that reputed family of Belthangady nor I'm a doctor like you. Even now I am not affiliated to any political parties, though I backed a certain political party during LS election as it was just to back our movement to gain some support from the up coming govt as we didn't wan't lag behind from that influential family of Belthangady in this struggle. 

Calling me a Bhasmasura proves, how highly you were paid to attack me with an imbecile post you have thrown on YM ADMIN's timeline. Kudos to you! I believe you are a practicing Hindu, unlike your masters who are non Hindus in real, and they have been using Hinduism and Hindu gods to achieve their predetermined desires and conquer the entire Belthangady thaluk with feudalism. You know it better, Bhasmasura was the one who played with poor lives and created many of his imprints to ruin this world. Probably its you and your masters are doing such a disgraceful campaign with a series of crimes.

Well, the world had acknowledged our efforts, Sowjanya's parents appreciated us and the people of this district have realized what is 'seeking justice' and what is 'rape'. I seriously don't understand a person who never sought justice for Sowjanya's rape and murder has the right to tell me "why are you raping the emotions of her parents?". Have some blood in your eyes Mr. Shreenath before you ridicule us for what we have done to get the much needed justice. Whatever we did was only for 'Sowjanya' and how can trying to bring smile on that poor Pangala's parents face be termed as rape? Would you have said the same if your own daughter had lost her life that way? Mark my words, you can call me and my team for help even if such a shame persists in Belthangady with your family members.


In your letter you have proved it that you are an obedient disciple of him by blaming me for defaming your master and temple's name. I ask you, where exactly did you see a denigrating post on either temple or on your master? When the Faceboook campaign went on fire that forced your master to resist us. He had no other ways to pull us down. So he lodged FIR on me and few other justice seekers to degrade our efforts. Actually you became your own master's prey. Above is the link to prove the allegations made by your master was baseless. I would have filed a defamation case on your master for that fake FIR. But I'm not made for that. Though I do not carry an inch of respect now for your master, I carry enormous respect for Lord Manjunatha. You must be remembering how an attempt to lower our voice by lodging FIR on us backfired at you people. We paid back you people in full by holding a massive protest in my own town that too with the blessings of Lord Manjunatha.

And you seems to have more concerned on other issues when people are getting killed and raped in your own thaluk. I fought for Sowjanya. You should have done it for Rathna Kottary too. Right? What you have done except writing nonsense online letters sitting on your clinic cabin? Shame on you for being a slave of that person. More shame on you for dancing according to the beats of him. Who is in fact a Jain who has no rights to monitor our temple. Have you ever questioned yourself why can't Hindus have the authority to run a Jain temple? You will never, unless and until you push yourself from that artificial false world of Hindutva and release yourself from the clutches of that influential people.

When it comes to Hinduism I have more righteousness than you. Kindly, refrain yourself from calling me 'pseudo secular'. Pseudo secularism is going to Ajmeer Dargah and wearing a skullcap. That too holding a top most position of VHP. Wearing a skullcap to appease whom? You must know that even your NaMo denied to do so. Disgracefully that was blatantly done by your master. Being the part of VHP's youth wing Bajarangdal, I feel ashamed to have such a chameleon in our patriotic organisation who could turn up to both sides according to his need.

Again, regarding your allegation on me of defaming temple name - you may not know, I was the one who objected DYFI for its intent of encashing JFS movement to malign temple name. And that red party had circulated a pamphlet saying I am an agent of Dharmasthala.

Also, I didn't find any sense in your comparison of Sri Raghaveshwara sri with your master. Please do not try again to insult Raghaveshwara Sri with such an awful comparison with a feudalist. And before going gaga over Gaza and Israel please do mind enough to stop happening killings in your own town by Petadhari's disciples. That's what Belthangady needs from you people.

Neither I'm ashamed this, that or whatever comes in the future nor with the letter you have written to me through your fake Facebook profile. I'm proud of what I did and what I have been doing. Hence, I request you, not to mock anyone without having prior knowledge on the issue. I hope Sri Narendra Modi will also help endangered Hindus of Belthangady from Jain faced predators.

Hope you will have the courage to read the clarifications I passed. May the good Lord Manjunatha enrich your perceiving ability and take you one step ahead than what you are now. A keyboard warrior.

 

A tribute to late Sowjanya

October 9, 2012. Remember this day?

              

Yes, its been 2 years since we have been striving hard to get the much needed justice to bring smile on that unfortunate Pangala's families face. Putting aside all the struggles we had faced on her of fighting against the reputed criminals of this district, here we have decided to give a tribute to that brave-heart.

Despite the restless protest we had last year, the case could reach only up to CBI. And we doubt the genuity and transparency of the investigation which could be disturbed by the influential people of the district who have been facing allegation of rape and murder charge. So, we have been trying to make this case go beyond state frontier so that our cry for justice will be heard by PM or someone related to present Govt. Along with this attempt all we can do now is to put this case on Maa Durga's feet for whom the Pangala family has utmost faith. 
                       

Our letter to Hon'ble Prime Minister 

As Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi says for we the campaigners Sowjanya proved to be a Durgi (Durgi - who is against injustice).
Just because of her 462 other unnatural death cases happened in Dharmasthala came into the light. Hence, we the campaigning team has decided to organise 'Chandika Yaaga' on her name offering yaga to Maa Durga, praying justice to prevail as soon as possible on October 10, 2014.

Yaga will be conducted in Ujire and 1008 married women will perform it by reciting the verses from the durga Sapthasathi and offering oblations in to the sacrificial fire.

Soujanya murder case needs no introduction. The maximum publicity gained case in 2013-14 . No doubt! This is the first rape and murder case making the localities to worry about the security of their ladies. If any outsider who is unaware of this case or with half information this article can help him. Soujanya, a innocent girl from a lower middle class family of Belthangadi. A pu girl having colourful dreams of teenage never predicted that her life will end up with a disaster. October 9, 2012 turned a deadly day to her.

I must say a black day for South Canara. A dead body of Soujanya was found in the forest near by her home. Though we heard many rape cases in the past year, localities were shocked to know a murder of a minor. Because its South Canara which is known as the district of literates, intellectuals and well mannered citizens. Within few days, a mentally ill person Mr Santhosh was accused and arrested for this murder. The names of prominent personalities were heard from the beginning of the case. But who dares to speak? The uncensored photos of the victim were making the people to agitate for justice.

The politicians, few news channels and newspapers stood to support the suspicious personalities than raising voice for Soujanya. To handover a case to the CBI, the time taken by the state Government was one year. There were many efforts to destroy the evidence. The Facebook page Justice For Kumari Soujanya has earned great support from the localities.  The present and past Government have similar stand on this case. In the beginning month, a special team of CBI has arrived to Belthangadi to investigate. Justice to Soujanya is the justice to every girl of this region. The support shown by the public to every protest in the name of Soujanya was stupendous. Its well said, “Working hands are better than praying lips”, Can we lend our hands to work for those women who are deprived of justice?

Whatever we did was only for 'Sowjanya'.

I could see many people vomiting so much venom on us for posting some pro Narendra Modi posts. Some are blaming we are going out of the context that the page has been misused for political gain. Some abused Sri Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi for declaring his support to Modi ji.

Let me throw few questions at you in return.

1. Apart Facebook, how many times you had involved yourself in the public protest?

2. How many times you had been to the police station to inquire about the investigation status?

3. How many times you been to Sowjanya's home to console her parents.

4. How many cases you have it on you for seeking justice for Sowjanya?

5. You must know, how Kemaru Sri and Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi struggled to bring Sowjanya case to limelight. Only they could explain the troubles they had faced. And just few posts about a party that too keeping in mind Sowjanya's Case you hall have forgot the efforts we did?

Dear abusers, we didn't limit our efforts just to Facebook. We did step down to the streets, participated in many protests as well.We had organised few protests too. We had to experience sleepless nights to do so. What we got in return was cases on us for fighting for Justice.

Our team firmly believes in Narendra Modi who can render the justice, or at least he can intervene the ongoing CBI probe. Our agenda is not carrying a basket to make money using Sowjanya's name. We have a vision. We believe that Modi Sarkar can do better to this nation, ultimately our appeal for justice will be heard.

Its easy to comment, post, abuse and harm and do anything being a 'Keyboard Warrior'. We had felt the heat of the trouble. Whenever we were pushed down to stop the campaign, we didn't give it up. Some lured us, some threatened. We didn't fall for anything. I hope one day, this page will get the justice for what it's been fighting.

Even if you think we were wrong, we beg apologies from those people who have the rights to blame us. No regrets for what we have done. Whatever we did was only for 'Sowjanya'.

ಸೌಜನ್ಯ ಸಾವಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಒದಗಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಜಾಪ್ರಭುತ್ವ ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಹೋರಾಟವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿ ಸೌಜನ್ಯ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ಸಿಬಿಐ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ಮಹೇಶ್ ತಿಮರೋಡಿ ಅವರು ಬಿಜೆಪಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಬೆಂಬಲವನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕೃತವಾಗಿ ಘೋಷಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಳೆದ ಹಲವಾರು ಸಮಯದಿಂದ ತಿಮರೋಡಿಯ ರಾಜ ಕೀಯ ನಿಲುವಿನ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕವಿದಿದ್ದ ಕುತೂ ಹಲದ ತೆರೆ ಸರಿದು ಹೋಗಿದೆ. ಮತ ಕೇಳಲೆಂದು ಮನೆಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ನಳಿನ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಕಟೀಲ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೂವಿನ ಹಾರ ಹಾಕಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ತನ್ನ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಗೆ ಎನ್ನುವ ನಿಲುವನ್ನು ಪರೋಕ್ಷವಾಗಿ ರವಾನಿಸಿದ್ದರೂ, ನಿನ್ನೆ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿ ತಾನು ಮೋದಿಯನ್ನು ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿಯಾದ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ಆಗಬೇಕಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ವಿಧಾನ ಸಭಾ ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಕ್ಷೇತರ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಣಕ್ಕೆ ಇಳಿದಿದ್ದ ಮಹೇಶ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲೇ ಎಂಟು ಸಾವಿರ ಮತಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದರು. ಇದೀಗ ಸೌಜನ್ಯ ಪ್ರಕರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಹೋರಾಟ ತುಳುನಾಡಿನ ಜನ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರಲ್ಲೂ ಗಾಢವಾದ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಬೀರಿದ್ದ ಕಾರಣ ಅವರ ಹಿಂದೆ ಜನ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಅತೀ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿತ್ತು. ಇದರ ಲಾಭವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ತಿಮರೋಡಿ ಚುನಾವಣೆಗೆ ನಿಲ್ಲುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎನ್ನುವ ಪ್ರಚಾರ ಇತ್ತಾದರೂ ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಧೋರಣೆ ಹೊಂದಿರದ ಕಾರಣ ಅವರ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಎನ್ನುವ ಕುತೂಹಲ ಸಹಜವಾಗಿಯೇ ಇದ್ದವು. ತಿಮರೋಡಿ ಅವರು ಭಾನುವಾರದವರೆಗೆ ತನ್ನ ನಿಲುವನ್ನು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟಪಡಿಸದೇ ಇದ್ದ ಕಾರಣ ಈ ಕುತೂಹಲ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಈ ನಡುವೆ ಮಹೇಶ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಿಪಿಐಎಂ ಮತ್ತು ಡಿವೈಎಫ್‍ಐ ನಾಯಕರೂ ಭೇಟಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ಸೌಜನ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟ ನಡೆದಾಗಲೂ ಈ ಸಂಘಟನೆ ತಿಮರೋಡಿಗೆ ಬೆಂಬಲ ನೀಡಿದ್ದ ಕಾರಣ ತಿಮರೋಡಿ ಸಿಪಿಐಎಂ ಪಕ್ಷವನ್ನು ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದೇ ನಂಬಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಇದಾದ ಬಳಿಕ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಕರ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಳಿನ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಕಟೀಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಕಲ್ಲಡ್ಕ ಪ್ರಭಾಕರ್ ಭಟ್ ಅವರು ತಿಮರೋಡಿ ಅವರ ಮನೆಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು. ತಿಮರೋಡಿ ಅವರು ಹಾರ ಹಾಕಿ ನಳಿನ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ವಿಚಾರ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿತ್ತು. 
ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ಇದೊಂದು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಭೇಟಿಯೇ ವಿನಃ ತಿಮರೋಡಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರಲ್ಲ ಎಂದಿದ್ದರು. ಇತ್ತ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾಗೋಷ್ಠಿ ನಡೆಸಿದ ತಿಮರೋಡಿ ಅವರು ನಾನು ಮೋದಿಯನ್ನು ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ ನಮ್ಮ ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರು ಇದೇ ನಿಲುವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದು ನಳಿನ್ ಭೇಟಿಗಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆಯೂ ಇದ್ದ ಸಿದ್ಧಾಂತವೇ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕೂ ಸೌಜನ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟಕ್ಕೂ ಸಂಬಂಧವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಅಲ್ಲದೇ ಸೌಜನ್ಯ ಹೆತ್ತವರು ಯಾವುದೇ ಪಕ್ಷವನ್ನು ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸದೇ ತಟಸ್ಥರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದರು. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಈ ಘಟನೆಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಅರ್ಥ ಬೇಡ ಸೌಜನ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಅಸಹಕಾರ ತೋರಿದಾಗ ಖಂಡಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಖಂಡಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಆದರೆ ದೇಶದ ನಾಯಕತ್ವ ಮೋದಿಗೆ ಸಿಗಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುವ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯನ್ನು ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸುವುದಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ವಸಂತ ಬಂಗೇರ ಅವರು ಸೌಜನ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಂಬಲವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಸ್ವಾರ್ಥವೂ ಇತ್ತು, ಆದರೆ ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಅವರೂ ನುಣುಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನನ್ನ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ನಿಲುವೇ ಬೇರೆ ಹೋರಾಟದ ನಿಲುವೇ ಬೇರೆ ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೂ ನಾನು ಹೋರಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಸಿಬಿಐಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರಕಾರ ಅಲ್ಲ: ತಿಮರೋಡಿ 
ಪ್ರಜಾಪ್ರಭುತ್ವ ವೇದಿಕೆ ಸೌಜನ್ಯ ಸಾವಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಒದಗಿಸಲು ಹೋರಾಟವನ್ನು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದ ಬಳಿಕ ರಾಜ್ಯಾದ್ಯಂತ ಹೋರಾಟಗಳೇ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದವು, ದೇಶದ ಹಲವಾರು ಕಡೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳೂ ಬೀದಿಗಿಳಿದು ಹೋರಾಟ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದರಲ್ಲದೆ ಸೌಜನ್ಯ ಪ್ರಕರಣವನ್ನು ಸಿಬಿಐಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವಂತೆ ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ಸಿಬಿಐಗೆ ಹಸ್ತಾಂತರವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಇದೀಗ ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೇ ನೀಡಿದ ತಿಮರೋಡಿ ಅವರು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರಕಾರ ಈ ಪ್ರಕರಣವನ್ನು ಸಿಬಿಐಗೆ ಹಸ್ತಾಂತರಿಸಿಲ್ಲ, ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಬೇರೆ ಪ್ರಕರಣದ ವಿಚಾರಣೆಗೆ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಸಿಬಿಐ ತಂಡದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸೌಜನ್ಯಳ ಸಾವಿನ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅಕ್ರೋಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತ ಪಡಿಸಿ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಕೋರಿ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದ ಬ್ಯಾನರ್‍ಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿ ಪ್ರಕರಣದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಸ್ವಯಂಪ್ರೇರಿತರಾಗಿ ಈ ಪ್ರಕರಣವನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಣೆಗೆ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆಯೇ ವಿನಃ ಇದು ಸರಕಾರದಿಂದ ಆಗಿರುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಅಲ್ಲ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಚೆನ್ನೈ ನಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಏಳು ಜನರ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ತಂಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪರಿವೀಕ್ಷಣಾ ಮಂದಿರದಲ್ಲಿ (IB) ತಂಗಿದ್ದು, ಸೌಜನ್ಯ ಪ್ರಕರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಆಕೆಯ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಆರೋಪಿ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿರುವವರನ್ನು ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬರಾಗಿ ವಿಚಾರಣೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಸೌಜನ್ಯ ತಂದೆ, ತಾಯಿ ಕುಸುಮ, ಮಾವ ವಿಠಲ ಪೂಜಾರಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವರನ್ನು ಸಿಬಿಐ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ವಿಚಾರಣೆಗೊಳಪಡಿಸಿ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದೆ. ತನಿಖಾ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಜೊತೆ ಜಸ್ಟಿಸ್ ಸುಬ್ರಮಣ್ಯೇಶ್ವರ ರಾವ್ ಕೂಡಾ ಇದ್ದು ಎರಡು ದಿನ ಸಿಬಿಐ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಆರೋಪಿ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವವರನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಣೆ ನಡೆಸುವ ವೇಳೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸೌಜನ್ಯ ಶವ ಪತ್ತೆಯಾದ ಜಾಗಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿಬಿಐ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದಲ್ಲದೇ, ಈ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿನ 450ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಅಸಹಜ ಸಾವು ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕೂಡಾ ಸಿಬಿಐ ತನಿಖೆ ನಡೆಸಲಿದೆ. ಯಾರ ಒತ್ತಾಯಕ್ಕೂ ಮಣಿಯದೆ ಸಿಬಿಐ ನಿಷ್ಪಕ್ಷಪಾತವಾಗಿ ತನಿಖೆ ನಡೆಸಬೇಕು. ಸೌಜನ್ಯಳನ್ನು ಕೊಂದವರಿಗೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು, ಹೆತ್ತವರಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಸಿಗಬೇಕು. ಈ ಪ್ರಕರಣವನ್ನು ಸರಕಾರ ಸಿಬಿಐಗೆ ವಹಿಸ ಬೇಕೆಂದು ವಿವಿಧ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳು ಭಾರೀ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದವು. ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಯ ಬಿಸಿಗೆ ಕೊನೆಗೂ ಮಣಿದಿದ್ದ ಸರಕಾರ ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷ ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕರಣವನ್ನು ಸಿಬಿಐಗೆ ಅಧಿಕೃತವಾಗಿ ವರ್ಗಾಯಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷ ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ 31ರಂದು ಸೌಜನ್ಯ ಅತ್ಯಾಚಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊಲೆ ಪ್ರಕರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಸಿಐಡಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ತನಿಖಾ ವರದಿಯನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು. 12 ಪುಟಗಳ ತನಿಖಾ ವರದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೌಜನ್ಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಅತ್ಯಾಚಾರ ಯತ್ನ ಹಾಗೂ ಹತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಿರೋದು ಆರೋಪಿ ಸಂತೋಷ್ ರಾವ್ ಎಂದು ನಮೂದಿಸಿದ್ದ ಸಿಐಡಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ವರದಿಯನ್ನು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಕೌಶಿಕ್ ಮುಖರ್ಜಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿ, ಪ್ರಕರಣದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದ್ದರೆ ಸಿಬಿಐ ತನಿಖೆ ನಡೆಸಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ಶಿಫಾರಸು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರು. ಸಿಐಡಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಸೌಜನ್ಯ ಅತ್ಯಾಚಾರ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೊಲೆ ಪ್ರಕರಣದಲ್ಲಿನ 12 ಸಾಕ್ಷ್ಯಗಳ ವಿಚಾರಣೆ ಬಳಿಕ ಆರೋಪಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ನಿಶ್ಚಲ್ ಜೈನ್, ಧೀರಜ್ ಜೈನ್, ಉದಯ್ ಜೈನ್, ಮಲ್ಲಿಕ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕ್ಲೀನ್ ಚಿಟ್ ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು ಮತ್ತು ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಬಂಧಿಸಿರುವ ಆರೋಪಿ ಸಂತೋಷ್ ರಾವ್ ಕೊಲೆ ಮಾಡಿರುವುದು ಎಂದು ವರದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಸಿಐಡಿ ವರದಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಕೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ ವಿವಿಧ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸೌಜನ್ಯ ಪೋಷಕರು ವರದಿಗೆ ತೀವ್ರ ವಿರೋಧ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಸೌಜನ್ಯ ಮೇಲಿನ ಅತ್ಯಾಚಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊಲೆ ಪ್ರಕರಣವನ್ನು ಸಿಬಿಐ ತನಿಖೆಗೆ ವಹಿಸದೇ ಮುಚ್ಚಿ ಹಾಕುವ ಹುನ್ನಾರ ನಡೆದಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ನ.3ರಂದು ಸಿಎಂ ಸಿದ್ದರಾಮಯ್ಯ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಪತ್ರ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದ ಧರ್ಮಸ್ಥಳದ ಧರ್ಮಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಡಾ.ವಿರೇಂದ್ರ ಹೆಗ್ಗಡೆ, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ಸೌಜನ್ಯ ಅತ್ಯಾಚಾರ-ಕೊಲೆ ಪ್ರಕರಣದ ಸಿಐಡಿ ತನಿಖೆ ಮತ್ತು ತನಿಖಾ ವರದಿ ಕುರಿತು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಗೊಂದಲವಿದೆ. ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ತನಿಖೆ ಆಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಪ್ರಕರಣದ ತನಿಖೆಯನ್ನು ಸಿಬಿಐಗೆ ವರ್ಗಾಯಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಪತ್ರ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದರು.

Sowjanya Rape and Murder : Finally CBI takes over the case

The CBI’s special crime branch (SCB) in Chennai has officially taken over the investigation of the Sowjanya rape and murder case.

Sowjanya, a 17-year-old student of SDM College in Ujire, was found raped and murdered at Pangala near Dharmasthala on October 9, 2012.

State CID sleuths, appearing before the VI Additional District and Sessions Judge, submitted an application on Friday and declared that the CBI SCB will now be theinvestigating agency in the case, sources told Express.

“CBI SCB DySP Rajagopalan, the investigating officer in the Soujanya case, had collected CDs, files and documents related to the case about a week ago,” a CID source said.

In November, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, responding to widespread criticism against the CID’s preliminary report on the case, had promised to entrust the case to the CBI. On November 6, the government issued a ‘notification of consent’ under Section 6 of the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act, 1946. The final hurdle was cleared after the Central government gave its approval and issued a notification under Section 5 of the Act.

Soujanya’s father Chandappa Gowda said all he wanted was the truth behind his daughter’s murder. “As the CBI has a reputation of getting to the bottom of cases, I hope it comes out with the details soon,” he said.

Padayathra held to pray for justice in support of Soujanya

Mangalore: “Soujanya family should get justice and government should initiate CBI investigation in to the case. We have taken Padayathra to god, who is a supreme power, to pray for justice” said, Sri Kemaru Shri Eesha Vithal Das Swamiji.

The padayathra organized by Praja Prabhutva Vedike had commenced from the house of Soujanya Pangala on Sunday, concluded at Kadri Sri Manjunatheshwara Temple, on Monday.

Speaking to media Swamiji said, Padayatra was conducted to create awareness regarding Soujanya case. Even government should seriously think about this case, he added.

President of Paja Prabhuthva Vedike, Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi said, politicians systematically tried to close the Soujanya case with the help of officials.

“People are just informed that the case has been handed over to CBI, but there is no update about the stage of investigation. In further days, we may have to gather people across the rural area in Belthangady, to begin a big Padayathra. Efforts are going on in many quarters to curb this struggle. We won’t bend to any of these efforts”, he said. 

Mangalore ; Soujanya's parent's visit kadri temple

Mangalore, Jan 26: Soujanya's parent's visited  kadri temple  in mangalore, to seek justice for their daughter. They took out a padayatra from  Dharmasthala to Mangalore demanding justice for their daughter.They prayed  god to ward off difficulties and impart justice.

Sri Esha Vittaldas Swamiji of Kemar Sandeepani Ashram  seer said he has been with the parents of Sowjanya in their fight for justice  without bowing to any pressure.

Continuing, he said “People even used to dread to put up banners seeking justice in Sowjanya case. But now, pro-Sowjanya banners are seen in every village revealing that there is a social awareness on the issue.”

Hindu leader Mahesh Shetty Timarodi said that the state's chief minister should first set right the police department which had protected  those who were involved in sexual assault and murder of Soujanya.

On October 9, 2012, 17-year-old Sowjanya was allegedly raped and murdered. The PU II student was last seen by her uncle near the Nethravati bus stop while she was returning home from college.Her body was found the next day. The police arrested Santhosh Rao in connection with the case. But Sowjanya's family feels that the case has been manipulated and the real culprits are yet to be arrested.

Sowjanya case: Dheeraj, Mallik, Udaya Jain suspect hidden motive behind allegation

Dheeraj Kella, Mallik Jain and Udaya Jain of Dharmasthala have alleged that the parents of Sowjanya who have accused them in the  rape and murder case of their daughter, have only made  arbitrary allegation without any proof.

Speaking to the media here on January 8, Wednesday, the three also  challenged Sowjanya’s parents to swear in the presence of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Manjunatha and other deities.

The three said the reputation of their families have been tarnished ever since they have been fixed  in the case. They have also suspected a hidden motive behind the allegations made against them by Sowjanya’s parents.

Further, they said  “Our names have been used during meetings and gatherings, but there is no formal complaint lodged in the first three month by Sowjanya’s parents. Their statements have no base and are partial. We are innocent and upset with the developments. Our families too are living in mental strain.”

"With this confidence in the strength of India’s civic society and the media, this media conference is being organised to bring to the attention of the nation the alarming facts relating to the Sowjanya case, and to invite the citizens of the country to rise and bring justice to a blameless child whose life was snuffed out in a savage manner, no less horrific than Delhi girl Nirbhaya’s case. Sowjanyas case is symbolic of the struggles of South Indian women and needs the same attention and action that the Nirbhaya case received. We intend to bring this case to the formal attention of the Child Rights Commission and the National Human Rights Commission "- Babu Gogineni- Executive Director of International Humanist and Ethical Union, London

Mangalore: On the first anniversary of the assault on Nirbhaya, the Delhi gang rape victim who succumbed to her horrific injuries on 28 Dec 2012, a delegation consisting of Babu Gogineni, of the London-based International Humanist and Ethical Union with Specialist Consultative NGO status with the United Nations Human Rights Council and 120 member organisations in over 40 countries, and Prof. Narendra Nayak, of the Federation of Humanist organisations with 70 Humanist and Rationalist member organisations in the country, visited the family of Kumari Sowjanya, a 17-year old child abducted and savagely violated and murdered in October 2012 in Dharmasthala, the well-known religious centre near Mangalore.


"India and Rape Statistics - With 24000 cases of rape officially reported in India in 2011, and with the suspicion that nearly 10 times that numbers go unreported, India is a country of grave concern for the safety of the girl-child and of women. This fact has been repeatedly pointed out in Human Rights fora and at the United Nations for India represents a significant proportion of the world’s population. In this context, we welcome the fact that in the past 12 months there has been massive public support to bringing to justice the perpetrators of crimes against women, and the number of reported crimes has gone up".


"From January 2013 to October 2013, 2844 rape cases have been reported whereas for all of 2012 in Delhi, only 706 cases had been reported. Sadly, the ground realities continue to be unaltered for most of the victims as of these 706 rape cases in Delhi, only one has resulted in a conviction. Justice Verma’s 3-member Commission identified the ‘failure of governance’ as responsible for the sorry state of affairs. As pointed out later, we find that this is also the case in Sowjanya’s matter".
 
" Despite this, there is a change in the mood of the nation today: because of robust public pressure, the previous impunity that rape accused and others accused of similar offences seemed to enjoy has somewhat diluted. In the last 12 months while the ground realities continue to intimidate and unjustly shame victims rather than the criminals, the perpetrators of the savage attack on Nirbhaya have been brought to book, Asaram Bapu and Narayan Sai are being investigated on charges of rape and intimidation and high-profile editor Tarun Tejpal is facing the music on sexual assault charges. Justice Ganguly is being hauled up ".

"India has shown that the high and mighty, irrespective of their position and power, are neither beyond crime nor are they beyond the reach of the law if the right diligence is shown by the citizens and media organizations. "There is a clear miscarriage of justice and the outrage this has caused brought together hundreds of thousands of people of Dakshina Kannada who have risen as one to try to bring to justice the perpetrators of this heinous crime. A Justice for Kumari Sowjanya social media campaign has 50,000 activists signed up. Everywhere in Dakshina Karnataka there are huge banners and tens of thousands of posters with the innocent face of Sowjanya questioning citizens of the country what they can do to bring justice to her – a vulnerable child of 17, raped and murdered. The campaign is supported by civil society and religious organisations save one ".

"The child was abducted, raped and murdered and the body was dumped near the banks of a stream flowing into the Netravathi river. The stream was over-flowing with water but the body found on the supposed scene of crime was dry, her clothes were dry as was her hand bag. Next to the body was a chit with a mobile phone number. There is photographic evidence of all this ".

"The police investigation into the case has been shoddy and unprofessional and does not inspire confidence. Evidence has been suppressed – the chit has been suppressed in the evidence; the post mortem report states that her vagina was found to be stuffed with mud and sand to destroy evidence. The police collected Sowjanya’s underclothes to cover her up – or was it an attempt to cover up partly the evidence? "

"Attempts were made to affect the credibility of the complainants. Kusumavathi, the mother of the murdered child was branded as mentally ill and by deception admitted to a hospital so that she would not be available to the media and neutral investigators. This was done by Balakrishna Pujari, Manager of Dharmasthala Agricultural. Did he have the medical qualifications to do that to a lady who he had not earlier ever met? Kusumavathi was rescued from the ayurvedic hospital – how is an ayurvedic hospital qualified to treat mental illness even if such illness existed? What is Mr. Pujari’s interest? Or whose interests was he protecting?"

"Public confidence is extremely low about the credibility of the investigation as indicated by the fresh CID probe initiated earlier this year. Vitthal Gowda, Sowjanya’s uncle, reported that he saw the police tutoring the accused at the alleged scene of crime. But the scene of crime identified by the police is not a credible scene of crime with no signs of struggle there. So where was the crime actually performed on a physically able victim who would surely have resisted as evidenced by wounds on her body? Who would have provided shelter for the crime to be perpetrated?"

"The family does not believe that the accused Santosh Rao under judicial custody at present was physically incapable of carrying out the crime singly and allege that the names they gave to the police were not properly investigated. Why is it that Sowjanya’s family has been provided with police security? Who is the danger from and what action has been taken to investigate this danger? People in the area live in an atmosphere of fear and intimidation as RTI documents have revealed over 400 deaths of people in the region, a fact unexplained by state wide statistics. Many fear the wrath of the land mafia and the impunity of the powerful persons of the region and are afraid of opening up their minds ".

"It has been explained that people come to Dharmasthala to commit suicide so they would directly go to heaven. What is the place of worship doing to prevent such suicides? If it is true that 60% of these deaths are those of young women, what is prompting young women to come here and die? What is the administration doing to prevent such suicides? How many psychiatrists have been deployed to address this crisis? If suicides are the reason for the deaths, how are we to explain why since the Sowjanya case became the focus of a public campaign, the so-called suicide rates have fallen?"

"It was alleged to us that in the feudal set up of the area where there is no freedom to contest elections without approval of the big wigs; women who are desired are abducted and raped and even those who dare to question are taught a lesson by their women folk being raped. Those who have asked for open investigation and those who have demanded justice as well as NGOs leaders and even the victim’s families, have been slapped with huge defamation cases, aimed at intimidating them into silence".

"Sowjanya was a child as defined by the law. The CWC Committee Chairperson, Asha Nayak has stated that she has not been given documents relating to the crime as per procedure. The CWC is a quasi-judicial body but has still not been given the charge sheet. We salute the immense courage shown by the family which in the face of pressure and intimidation have still managed to holdout. We are encouraged by the groundswell of support that the campaign has received, the media attention a few channels gave, but in view of the lack of convincing steps being taken by the local authorities we believe that an investigation by a neutral body with judicial supervision would be a better guarantor of justice for Sowjanya ".

"Sowjanyas case is symbolic of the struggles of South Indian women and needs the same attention and action that the Nirbhaya case received. We intend to bring this case to the formal attention of the Child Rights Commission and the National Human Rights Commission. The next steps would be to raise the questions at the meeting of the United Nations’ Human Rights Council at its next session in the first quarter of 2014 " said Babu Gogineni.

Babu also said already consoled by the support they received in their continued life of grief, the family of Sowjanya has agreed and is preparing to go to Delhi with their story. He also urged the state government to hand over the entire 464 unnatural deaths taken place in Ujire (Dharmasthala) over the past ten years to CBI probe. Prof Narendra Nayak said that there are many religious centres in the Dakshina Kannnada, but none of the places have witnessed such kind of brutal incident.

Sowjanya’s case symbolizes struggles of South Indian Women : Gogineni

Mangalore : “Sowjanya rape and murder case was as horrific and as horrendous Nirbhaya’s case. It is unfortunate that while Nirbhaya’s rapists were caught within a year of the crime Sowjanya’s parents are still awaiting justice even after 14 months have passed. Is this disparity because of the fact that Nirbhaya’s rape happened in national capital while Sowjanya was murdered in a small village such as Belthangady.” said Babu Gogineni of London based International Humanist and Ethical Union a NGO which has Specialist Consultative status with the United Nations Human Rights Council during media briefing.

“Sowjanya’s parents will be taken to New Delhi where they will present their case, the matter will also be brought before the United Nations Human Rights Council. Such a horrific crime was committed on a child and we were shocked to that the Police Department has not even till this date has not given the charge sheet to the Child Welfare Committee chairperson despite it being a quasi judicial body.”Gogineni said.

Unprofessional Investigation 
“The investigation in this case has been shoddy and unprofessional further evidence is being suppressed. The accused have not only destroyed the evidence but also there have been instances when the police are tutoring the accused. We have been hearing about the involvement powerful family being involved in the case. It is quite unfortunate that the entire judiciary system has been used by the accused to protect themselves. So much the so that the people who have come up with open allegations, NGOs and even the victims’s families have been slapped with defamation cases. This has created fear among the people who are not able to reveal the truth for the fear that they also meet the same fate as others. While only few political parties extended their support to the victim’s family. Rest all are siding the accused,”he added.

Why young women are committing suicide
“The alarming factor is that of total suicides 60 per cent deceased include young women. Now the question should be raised as to why young women are committing suicide. What is driving them towards such a decision. Is there an underlying social or psychological problem? If that is so then counseling should be done? If this is not the case then are the women being killed? Gogineni questioned

“If they are killed then the matter must be investigated. However one positive trend is that from the day when Sowjanya’s case started coming to light the number of suicide case has reduced,”he added.

Let the people being accused come out to clear their image
“We have been hearing the names of a powerful family being stated as accused. And we also been hearing how this powerful family is citing these allegations as baseless. If the family and the people are so honorable then should come out in open and subject themselves to judicial investigation so that they can clear their name. But such a process is not being adopted.”Gogineni said.

Kusumalatha admitted to Ayurvedic hospital

“Further Kusumalatha by deception was admitted to Ayurvedic Hospital citing mental illness. If ever she was mentally ill then why should she be admitted in Ayurvedic hospital,”Gogineni said.

Sowjanya’s case is symbolic of the struggles of South Indian Women

“Sowjanya’s case is symbolic of struggle of South Indian Women and needs same action and attention that the Nirbhaya case received. People should come forward and fight for justice. ”Gogineni added.

Justice for Sowjanya: Protest reaches Bantwal, students join in

Bantwal, Dec 10: Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi, convener of Praja Prabhutva Vedike on Monday December 9 urged the student community to actively participate in the protests against injustice in Sowjanya rape and murder case disregarding pressure to stay away from it.

Thimarodi spoke at a protest rally held in front of BC Road taluk office in Bantwal in connection Sowjanya rape and murder case. The protestors demanded Supreme Court-monitored CBI probe into the case and also into other unnatural deaths in Dharmasthala.

He said that intense questioning of the then SI Yogish Kumar, SP, medical officers Adam and Rashmi would reveal the true colors of those who have influenced the investigation in Sowjanya case.

Sri Esha Vittaldasa Swamiji of Kemaru Math said that he will not remain quiet if the student community is troubled.  He commended the students who participated in the protest.  He assured that he would be with them always and that he could be contacted anytime over the phone.

He said that there are sincere policemen also in the police force and that it was a police officer who inspired him to join the protests.

Dr Harale, husband of Vedavalli who was murdered in Dharmasthala, said that he had remained quiet for the future of his children and said that God has awakened those who have been victims of injustice.  He lamented that some police officers favor the wealthy, thereby forgetting their duty.  Some ministers also bow before the rich, he said.

Kusumavati, mother of the late Sowjanya cried during the protest.  She said that Sowjanya woud have been in the forefront of protests against injustice if alive and that the girls of her age in the protest reminded her of her daughter.

Kumari Ashwija, who spoke at the meeting, said that it was necessary for students to wake up against injustice and protest.  Sowjanya’s father, Chandappa Gowda, members of protest committee Bhuvith Shetty and Santhosh were present.

Anil Gowda gave the keynote address.  Satish Salian welcomed the gathering.  Shailesh thanked.  Anand Kulal conducted the programme.

Students gathered in large numbers at the protest.  It was the third protest meeting held on Monday.  Large number of students and women participated in the rally that was taken from BC Road to Kaikamba Polali main entrance prior to the meeting.

Finally! Sowjanya Case handed over to CBI officially(?).

My sincere and heart filled thanks to all the students and people who participated in the #JusticeForSowjanya protest yesterday in B.C.Road. In fact, the heat of the protest might turn into a positive move as some news papers have written today that "Sowjanya Case has been handed over to CBI officially".

Protest was massive and a revolution too considering the immediate response by the state govt. To be very honest, the protest would have been yielded 'nothing' without the help of 'ಸೌಜನ್ಯಪರ ಹೋರಾಟ ಸಮಿತಿ', Janapara Mahesh Shetty Thimarody and Eshaswamiji Swamiji's blessings and Sowjanya families participation. I would like to thank Pradeep Ajjibettu,Santhosh Kumar, Pranam Raj, Pratheesh, Prashanth Ajjibettu, Vivek Raj, Bharath Shetty, Abhi Rai, Gururaj Bantwal, Shailesh Bcroad, Sandesh Shetty, Sathish Salian,Mahesh Shetty, Sharanu Acharya, Shivaraj Kulal, Jeethu Kotian and many others for making this event successful amidist the odds offered by many so called 'Leaders' and 'Protectors of Hinduism'.

We the people used to get plenty of calls to abort the protest as it was according to them an attempt to defame the holy land Dharmasthala. Well, people never gave attention to their false propaganda about our blog and pooled in large numbers. That's what we needed badly.  

And nothing perishes here itself. We will observe the CBI moves, and CBI probe should be made under the knowledge of Supreme Court so that we can trust it. Let us hope for the good. Good days are ahead.
